PRINTING
IRIS is an ultramodern, integrated production factory for newspapers, magazines, advertising leaflets, books and other printable media. The printing section constitutes the "heart" of production and possesses, in total, 10 state-of-the-art cylindrical offset presses.
More specifically IRIS possesses:
- 6 cylindrical COMET KOENIG and BAUER presses with newspaper production capabilities of up to 80 p. tabloid - of which 48 are 4-colour process and on-line pin binding capabilities. All presses have dryers of hot air and provide the possibility of 16 4-colour pages being printed the same as magazines (HeatSet).
- 4 FERAG newspaper, advertising leaflet and magazine inlaying lines, allowing simultaneous management of up to 8 different prints.
- 1 cylindrical LITHOMAN III MAN ROLAND press, 32-page, with 4-colour printing capabilities, on-line pin binding, on-line masking and a automatic printing plate changing system.
- 1 cylindrical ROTOMAN MAN ROLAND press, 16-page, with 5-colour printing capabilities, folding machine that allows all possible folding methods, on-line glue binding, sheeter and a semi-automatic printing plate changing system.
- 1 cylindrical LITHOMAN IV MAN ROLAND press, 32-page, with 5-colour printing capabilities, folding machine that allows all possible folding methods, on-line glue binding, sheeter and a semi-automatic printing plate changing system.
- 1 cylindric COMPACTA 408 KOENIG & BAUER press, 32-page, with 4-colour printing capabilities.
- Alongside the printing presses, FERAG lines carry the printed products through the factory and robotic systems place them onto Gaemmerler and Mueller Martini pallets.
